Legislative Forum
2011 Forum
The Legislative Forum was held at the State Capitol in Saint Paul on Monday, February 28, 2011. The Forum gave ABE staff and students an opportunity to learn about the legislative process and talk with legislators. This is an important year at the Minnesota State Capitol, due to financial decisions that will be made to address the projected deficit.
ABE practitioners are encouraged to provide a local forum in which legislators have an opportunity to hear from a variety of learners the difference ABE services have made to their lives.
Student Speaker Information
Students are asked to share their stories during the large group session from noon to 1:00 p.m. the day of the Legislative Forum. Teachers who have learners interested in speaking are asked to contact the Literacy Action Network office: info@literacyactionnetwork.org. Confirmed speakers will have 3 to 5 minutes to share their stories.
